Weddings are an intimate celebration for all invited and nothing can set the intimacy right like a good ole' wedding program! Including a wedding program for your guests is a thoughtful detail that allows them to follow along throughout the ceremony and feel more engaged, especially if there are any traditions that may not be familiar. I found my self asking various questions throughout a ceremony recently and realized how important a program really is in order to follow along and know the names of the bridal party, song playing, parent's names, etc.
There are so many great ways to incorporate personal details into your program as well as thank those who have made the wedding possible. Think of your program as a table of contents and your wedding is a book for guests to read. It needs to be easy to follow and accurate for guests to feel apart of your special day.
What to include in your program:
~ List the order of events happening during the ceremony.
- Officiant's name
- Processional song
- Names in order of bridal party
- Exchanging of vows & ring ceremony
- Pronouncement of marriage
~ If guests are traveling to the reception location after the ceremony, you can even add the information and address onto the program since many guests leave the invite at home.
The program is the first impression guests will have of your wedding. Make it your own! See some creative ways to do so…
