Des’s Weekly: Memorial Day
May 25, 2014
Given the fact that it is Memorial Day weekend I would like to honor those that have fallen for our country and for those that continue to fight for our freedom. If we don’t have family members or friends that are currently in the military or that have fought in past wars it is easy to be unaware of the significance these men and women have in our own lives. They choose to fight, they choose their life for our country and for that alone we must honor them everyday of our lives.
When we are drinking our cup of coffee, enjoying time with friends and outside breathing in the fresh air, we must stop to think how different our freedom would be to do these things if it were not for the men and women who have laid down their own lives for our freedom in this country. Let’s keep the veterans, the deployed and their families always in our prayers for they are the true heroes.
