Life can get really hectic and it can be challenging to find even a few moments each day to recharge.  We don’t always have the time to take a vacation to regroup. However, it is crucial to seek balance in your schedule for yourself to decompress. It is important to prioritize time in your week for some fun, laughter, conversation, solitude, relaxation, nature and exercise!

Here are some ideas on how to spend your free time in search of some inner bliss:

Share time with a friend.  Meet up for coffee or brunch to chat and let off some steam about whatever has been racing through your mind all week. Sharing your inner joys and turmoils with a gal pal can really let you get some perspective and feel supported.

Take some personal time to reground your mind a feel focused on your purpose. Go to a yoga class, read a book, write in a journal, take a walk to the farmers market or get a massage. Slowing things down and escaping the hustle and bustle for even an hour can really affect your ability to approach the rest of life with vigor and stamina.

Get outside for some exercise!  Whether it is the dead of winter or the peak of summer it is always important to get out in the sunshine and there is almost always a fun activity you can find to enjoy any time of year.  Go for a hike or snowshoe, stand up paddle board, ride your bike, cross country ski, or go for a trail run.  Anything to let you soak up a little vitamin D and see the beauty of the world around you.

Try something new.  There are so many things to experience in this life and we should all take advantage.  Try not to become complacent and tackle something new when you have the opportunity.  Learn to rock-climb, go fly-fishing, take a sailing lesson, attempta cooking class… anything that appeals to you.  No matter where you live or how old you are there are plenty of opportunities and resources to learn how to take on some new hobbies if you take the initiative. You may even find a new passion or meet some new friends along the way.

We all have the difficult job of juggling what life throws at us, but try and remember to make yourself a priority and have some fun along the way.
