Choosing a honeymoon destination can be just as difficult as choosing the right flowers or colors for a wedding day. There are so many wonderful locations to choose from it can be hard to know which one will be right for you. Luckily, from personal experience along with research, I have chosen 6 of my favorite Starwood Resorts for honeymooners to fall head over heels in love with.

Begin your journey as Mr. and Mrs. on a relaxing getaway at one of these magical locations below.

#1: Sheraton Grand Rio Hotel & Resort

Rio De Janiero is an eclectic city with so much to offer and many sights to see. As newlyweds you could find yourself exploring the city, mingling with locals, or relaxing on white sand beaches at the only beachfront property in the city. I love the view of the skyline along the coast and the overall vibe of the city. This would be an ideal place for any couple looking to have a fun and memorable honeymoon filled with a great mix of activity and relaxation on the beach!

#2: The Westin Resort & Spa, Whistler

Whistler.. a majestic mountain in Canada I can’t wait to visit!  I’m feeling really good about us planning a trip to Whistler in the new year and will keep you posted on that front. In the meantime… if you’re planning your honeymoon, and not interested in beaches and palm trees, then Whistler is going to be one of the best options for you. What’s great about Whistler is there’s so much to do year round; snow or sunshine. In the summer the town is buzzing with activity for newlyweds to take part in and the winter brings snow covered peaks with ideal slopes to snowboard or ski.

What’s more romantic than keeping each other warm, cuddled up next to a fire while sipping hot cocoa. I mean.. seriously! A honeymooners perfect getaway!

#3: The Westin Puntacana Resort & Club

The Dominican Republic is one of my favorite places ever. I have only visited the DR once, while on a trip with a non-profit, and although we didn’t stay at a resort near the beach, the vast views of the aqua water and white sand beaches has me dreaming of the day I can go back and experience more. It is the perfect landscape for a couple to relax, take in the beautiful sunsets and enjoy being husband and wife.

I can’t wait to take Chris on a trip here to walk the beaches and take part in the amazing culture… maybe even learn the merengue. 😉

#4: The St. Regis Princeville Resort

Chris and I had the most amazing honeymoon at this beautiful resort! The view is straight out of a dream and the atmosphere suits its self to the utmost relaxation. Whether you’re hiking one of many incredible trails the island has to offer or taking in the sun near the private beach or poolside, you cannot go wrong with a honeymoon at the St. Regis Princeville.

We absolutely loved the resort and can promise that you will feel rejuvenated after a stay here.

#5: The Westin Grand Cayman Seven Mile Beach Resort & Spa

When I was 20 years old I had the opportunity to go on a cruise with friends. The cruise included a day in Grand Cayman and I will never forget the beautiful beaches this island is surrounded by. If you like long walks on the beach with your new husband or wife then this place is for you! With 7 miles of pristine beach only steps from the hotel, you will be able to explore the depths of the water or enjoy a variety of water sports, beach activities, pool side splendor, beachside restaurants and relaxation in the many cabanas.

A memorable retreat for newlyweds!

#6: The St. Regis Bora Bora Resort

Bora Bora is what paradise looks like in books and fairytales. The private bungalows practically floating on water melt my heart every time I come across a photo. I can only imagine the peace and quiet a couple would experience in during their stay here. The calm water, landscape, beach, privacy and incredibly close encounters with marine life have me booking our tickets right now. The St. Regis was on our list of honeymoon locations and although we didn’t visit for our honeymoon, I still have my heart set on visiting soon. I keep reminding Chris of our anniversary coming up, so fingers crossed he gets my many hints. 😉

All of these resorts and locations are a dream come true for any newlyweds but what about saying ‘I do’ at one of these locations and having your honeymoon paid for!? That is a possibility too!
