Valentines Day is almost here!
While this is a fun holiday to plan something special with a loved one or even your closest friends, when it comes to planning, we tend to procrastinate! There are so many exciting, active and romantic date ideas, but here are a few that I wouldn’t hate if someone planned for me 😉 (hint, hint).
First of all, the way to most of our hearts… FOOD (and coffee)!
Plan a yummy surprise breakfast in bed for that special someone to start the day. I HIGHLY recommend making these clean-eating heart shaped ‘nutella’ strawberry pancakes!! I fell in love with the Kodiak Cakes pancake mix because it’s made with 100% whole grains and no added fat or sugar. A personalized or adorable mug (like ours) is also an added treat to gift and pair with this meal.
Use a heart shaped cookie cutter to make the pancakes extra special and follow these steps below to make the clean eating ‘nutella’.
- Bake 2 cups of hazelnuts on 400° for about 8 minutes. Once they’re cool, use a paper towel to rub off the skins.
- Place hazelnuts in a food processor and add in 1 ½ Tbl vanilla extract, ¼ cup cocoa powder, ¼ cup sweetener of choice (pure maple syrup, agave, stevia, etc.), and ½ cup unsweetened almond milk. Blend until smooth. You can add in some coconut oil (2 Tbl) for a creamier consistency and add in a little salt to taste.
Spread the ‘nutella’ on top of your pancakes and then top it off with some sliced strawberries and slivered almonds! YUM!!
Next on the list of activities, we’re going to plan a little adventure. Let’s say you live in an area near the mountains. Plan an afternoon hike for the two of you and pack some essentials. Bring along wine, cheese, fruit and crackers and set up a romantic picnic when you reach a scenic spot. If you live closer to the beach, plan a fun/romantic beach day. Bring your paddle boards, boogie boards, or even a football to toss around. Bring some candles (don’t forget the lighter), a blanket, wine, or champagne and some yummy snacks.
Seriously, with any of these ideas up your sleeve, you will MELT someone’s heart! I hope you all have an amazing Valentines Day! Share with me the fun, flirty and fit plans you come up with!
