chris-corner

Well everyone…I am sure you missed me over the last couple of weeks, but don’t worry, I am back and you again are in my corner!

I thought it would be fitting to write briefly about the holidays since this time of year is one of my favorites! I, unlike some people, don’t mind the cold weather if it isn’t raining. Yes it rains here sometimes, but the days that are clear are the days that are the best around! Period.

This year is especially special because this Christmas will be the last Christmas as a fiancé! You may be asking yourself, “what are Chris’s favorite things to do during this time of year if this season of the year is one of his favorites?!”

Well I thought you’d never ask. We live very close to Lake Union in Seattle and right about this time every year there is a Christmas boat parade that trolls the lake, then parks in front of Gasworks park and puts on a caroling show. We can see all of this from our deck! I can literally stand outside in the cold and just watch. Great time. Another great thing about this time of year is the age old tradition of the Nutcracker.

As a kid I would always go to the Nutcracker and no sooner than when we sat down I would be ready to leave. I remember…nothing of the Nutcracker because I was always asleep! Haha no just kidding. I do have a different appreciation for it now though and this will be the first year Des and I go. We are making a day of it too with the family down in Portland. That should be great and exciting!

Lastly, I really enjoy bundling up next to the fire. You heard it here, I am great a building fires haha. Des and I started doing this together this year and we sit back, relax and enjoy the fire together now in our living room. Now I have to admit, I am not much of a cuddle-er, but that is because I get super hot very fast! Des does too though so she understands. But there is something nice about being next to the fire, close to the water and Christmas in the air.

What about you? What are you most looking forward to this Christmas season?
