BRAIDING SERIES: SWEATER WEATHER BRAID
November 02, 2015
Happy Braiding Monday! This week it is all about fall, and what better way to continue our braiding series than to show you all a style that is perfect to pair with a chunky knit sweater or cozy scarf! For those of you who are just tuning in to the Braiding Series, head back to Part One to start learning the basics. And if you missed last week please revert back to Part Four to freshen up your braiding skills. Each week you will be learning new techniques as well as incorporating old techniques from previous hairstyles. So for those of you who have been following along, by now you are probably 3-strand braiding in your sleep.
Part Five: Sweater Weather Braid
What you need to know: With winter vastly approaching, we thought it would be the proper time to show you all a hairstyle that is perfectly paired with a chunky knit & a cozy scarf! This braided style looks a bit like a messy bun, but is simply a braid scrunched up to form the perfect fall hairstyle!
Step One: Start by directing all hair to one side. Take hair in front of ear and clip off.
Step Two: With the remaining hair- take the top half and pull to one side into an elastic. Separate the hair right about the ponytail and pull the ponytail up and through the split.
Step Three: 3-strand braid the remaining hair. Before securing, grab a tiny piece of the bottom of the braid. Holding that piece tightly, push the rest of the braid straight up towards the head.
Step Four: Secure the scrunched up braid to the head with either hairpins or bobby pins.
Step Five: Take the hair in front of the ear and loosely pull back towards the bun and pin.
Throw on your favorite sweater or scarf and you have the perfect Fall/Winter style!
