6 Pregnancy Safe Products to Help Avoid Stretch Marks

One of the first thoughts that runs through a newly pregnant woman’s mind is not necessarily the nursery, the baby items to get or which features the baby will take after… but how to keep from getting stretch marks with a growing belly. Pregnancy comes with a variety of emotions and changes, don’t let one of those changes be to your skin. I have always been a stickler for moisturizing each day so adding another cream to my daily regiment wasn’t a problem and I’m so thankful I stuck with it. My skin has reaped the benefits of these amazing products below. Whether you’re like me or moisturizing doesn’t come as easy for you, try these awesome additions to balm your belly throughout pregnancy to keep from getting stretch marks.

 Tummy Butter

This particular stretch mark cream became my staple for many reasons throughout pregnancy. I prefer the scent over many balms or oils and the thicker texture leaves my skin confident to withstand the stretching. I also have been using this on existing stretch marks on my thighs and have seen an improvement on even those! It’s a little pricier than others but the pennies will be worth it in the end.

Mother’s Special Blend Body Oil

I love a good oil that visibly softens and penetrates the skin. On top of the cream I’ve been using above, I will also apply this oil to assist in the protection against stretch marks. The oil will also come in handy for postpartum skin.

Honest Company Belly Balm

If you prefer a balm to a lotion or cream than this is one for you! I used this balm for awhile in between and absolutely loved that it felt like a lotion and oil mixed in one. I prefer the touch and feel of cream but know that this balm, while I was using it, was definitely working well and helped in the elasticity of my skin.

Palmer’s Cocoa Butter

This cocoa butter has been around since I can remember and I have always had a bottle on hand for existing stretch marks prior to pregnancy. Cocoa butter is one of the best ingredients out there for moisturizing and strengthening the skin. This affordable option ensures your skin will stay moisturized around the clock and keeps your belly stretch mark free.

Coconut Oil

A staple in our household, coconut oil can be used for a multitude of things. One being an essential for reducing and fighting the appearance of stretch marks during pregnancy. Oil not only reaches the surface of the skin but penetrates into the pores to assist in the strengthening against stretch marks.

Mama Mio, The Tummy Rub Butter

This tummy rub butter is just like my first favorite above and has a great Shea butter base. I tend to lean towards the creams and body butters for stretch marks and why I really love this one as well. I just was introduced to it a few weeks ago so still giving it a go. The 4.5 star rating on Amazon along with tons of rave reviews is a plus to know that it has worked for many others.
