If your wedding is a little more informal or has a rustic twist, opt for a bundt display! These ring-shaped cakes baked in a fluted pan are both pretty and yummy. They can be dusted with powdered sugar or dressed up with icing. Adorn them with flowers and greenery or, for a summery take, decorate them with raspberries, strawberries, and blueberries. Since bundts are traditionally on the smaller size, be prepared to order several (you can always opt for minis!). We love the idea of creating a dessert display with bundts of various size.
You’ve probably seen doughnuts at a wedding before–these rings of cakey goodness have been popping up everywhere. Give them a luxe treatment and your doughnut display won’t look like everyone else’s! From marble finishes to edible flower petals, doughnuts can be anything but basic. Don’t be afraid to make them colorful, either. Rich frosting in blue, burgundy, or hunter green will entice your guests eyes and taste buds!
Choose macaroons for a dessert that’s lighter than air and melts right on your tongue! These little French confections come in sophisticated flavors like almond, rose, and orange blossom. Go for macaroons in multiple colors and have them dusted with gold for a hint of glimmer and glam. You can stack them in a tower and also present them on silver trays. Flavor signs printed in elegant script (or even in French!) will add a sense of elegance and romance to your dessert table. We say, ‘Oui!’
Another underused wedding dessert is eclairs! These fluffy, cream-filled pastries invoke images of the Eiffel Tower and are perfect for individualized servings. With the combination of soft goodness inside and buttery pastry outside, every bite is a delight. You can present them on a variety of vintage trays accented with flower petals–or even create a display that replicates a French bakery window for a whimsical dash of style!
What’s better than a bite of cake? Not much, we say! These moist, utensil-free desserts are all the rage these days. Get glittery cake pops in flavors like champagne or strawberries and cream. Tie coordinating ribbons around their sticks and you have everything you need for a delectable and enchanting wedding dessert! Just be sure to order about two or three per person–since these are small, guests won’t be able to stop at just one.
