Winter is so magical. From the beauty of newly fallen snow to the holiday cheer that lasts long into the New Year, it’s the season that makes everyone smile. And, when it comes to weddings, all that magical wintry beauty translates to wonderland-esque affairs! From the colors to the fashion, winter weddings are as dazzling as any summer nuptials.
We are loving the trend of texture for winter weddings! For your paper goods, opt for tactily enticing invites with embossing or a weave finish. These heavier papers denote the season in a romantic way. Opt for a delicate script and your guests will be in for a sumputous experience for both their eyes and fingertips!
A winter wedding calls for the ultimate in ice princess fashion! It’s important to fit your setting so you’ll want a layered style and a gown in a thicker fabric (sidestep chiffon for satin or taffeta). Long lace sleeves and a faux fur coat in a soft hue like camel or gray are completely on trend. You’ll be saying, “the cold doesn’t bother me anyway” for real!
Winter florals are an exciting challenge! Go for flowers in season (like lilies, gardenias, and lisinathus) and then add the perfect holiday touch by mixing in lots of wintergreens. Your bouquet will feel earthy and seasonal and the greenery will give it structure and height. Simply finish it off with a silk dupioni ribbon!
When it comes to the rest of your decor and color scheme, use burgundy and green as an accent against ivory or white. Then add a dash of gilded glam with rose gold or gold (like these to-die-for plates and flatware!). The metallic hues add winter enchantment and will pop against the other shades. By intermixing these colors and hues, your reception will be the epitome of winter elegance!
You’ll be dreaming of your white Christmas (wedding) long after your special day!
