Does the thought of boudoir make you blush? We do…until we saw this friends’ boudoir shoot. These two beautiful besties planned a special day of boudoir shooting, complete with a champagne brunch (see above for all that pre-shoot sweetness). We love how they went for soft, romantic looks almost as much as we love their support for each other! And if you find boudoir styling intimidating, don’t worry–our tips will give guidance for what to wear so you feel stylish and, most importantly, like yourself. You will be striking those killer poses in no time at all!

WHAT TO WEAR

We are team #subtlysultry. For effortlessly alluring photos, we say go for slightly retro-inspired lingerie, like a high-waisted panty and bralette. Rich hues, like this wine colored set, will add the perfect amount of drama. These items will give you more coverage and highlight your best features, all while being SO enticingly romantic.

WHAT TO BRING

We are dying over this guipure lace cover-up! It’s completely sheer yet voluminous, allowing this beauty to drape herself in all its gorgeousness. Cover-ups are perfect for tantalizingly sweet photos and are great for giving you something to hold and pose with, particularly as you are getting comfortable in front of the camera. Ones with texture–think thick laces or even embroidered pieces–add dimension and interest.

WHAT TO ADD

Your veil, of course! Veil shots are absolutely essential. They incorporate your love story and hint at your happily ever after. They also bring an ethereal lightness to your photos. Doesn’t this bride look like a woodland nymph? We CANNOT get enough!

WHAT TO ACCESSORIZE WITH

FLOWERS! We are obsessed with flower crowns and woodsy bouquets and this lovely lady has both (ok, so hers is made of leaves but it’s close enough!). Flower crowns and bouquets give your photos a stylistic direction and help showcase your personality. Also, if you’re a little shy, a strategically placed bouquet can help you feel secure and also give you something to do with your hands!

Our final tip: Before the shoot starts, take a deep breath, look in the mirror, and remind yourself that your fiance and your family love you just the way you are! The best boudoir shoots aren’t just about physical beauty but about capturing your beautiful, one-of-a-kind soul!
