The Best Ways to DIY Thrift Store Finds for Your Wedding Decor
You might be able to gather it from the title but my book, My Fairytale Wedding: Planning Your Dream Wedding Without Breaking the Bank, is all about finding affordable ways to style your special day! So when this gorgeous thrift store wedding came across my desk, I was thrilled. Marin and Alex’s wedding is personal, romantic, and, best of all, completely DIY! Marin and her mother culled thrift stores, antique shops, and sales for vintage inspired pieces. On the big day, Marin’s wedding planners assembled the items into centerpieces and tableaus, resulting in a one-of-a-kind look.
Want some of this affordable yet absolutely amazing style for yourself? Here are my tips for decorating your wedding with thrift store finds!
Buy old frames to display your wedding information at your ceremony (also, printable invitations are a great way to get lots of bang for your buck).
Create a ceremony backdrop from old sheets, tablecloths, or linens
Purchase your bridesmaids’ retro jewelry as their gift. They’ll love owning pieces that have a history.
Pick up a few old pieces of furniture for tableaus
Make candle holders out of thrift store items like birdcages, vases, or jars
Look through bins of linens…You’ll be sure to find some lace runners and tablecloths!
Find unique centerpieces
Collect mix and match old china from yard sales for vintage dining
Similarly, various cake stands are perfect for a dessert display
And with all your savings, go ahead and splurge on the honeymoon! You’ve earned.
