Marrying the love of your life is by far one of the most incredible moments one can ever experience. As you start a new chapter of life together as husband and wife, make sure you’re prepared with the necessary items. Before walking down the aisle and saying ‘I do’ it’s important to put together a solid wedding registry list that caters to your wants and needs.
There are many registries that Chris and I used when we got married but Bloomingdale’s wedding registry takes the cake! The quality of brands they carry along with the personalized care from your very own registry consultant makes them the perfect one stop shop. Whether you want to make it a date with your partner and scan the items in store through their Big Brown Bag app or browse online in your PJ’s, the experience will definitely be enjoyable and stress free.
To help you get started, I’ve put together the top 5 items a couple should have on their registry below.
To have and to hold… with breakfast in bed. Am I right?! There’s nothing more enjoyable than having a romantic dinner at home with your hubby or sharing a meal in bed. Make sure these moments happen by finding the perfect plate set. Two of my favorites from Bloomingdale’s are the Dauville Dinnerware set by Canvas with gold trimming and the classic all white Bernardaud Origine Collection.
Cheers! Make a toast to holy matrimony with a new set of glassware. Glasses are something we use everyday and why they are important to have on your registry. A good set will last quite awhile so choose one that you both love. Also, if you like to entertain the way we do then don’t forget to include some new wine and champagne glasses on that list.
A ‘hostess with the mostest’ needs a set of serving dishes to accompany that title. The best time to get these type of dishes is from your wedding and thus why they should be on your wedding registry. Now that you are newlyweds, hosting friends and family is like an initiation into married life so be prepared with the right items. I’ve found these type of serving dishes to come in very handy for holiday gatherings, birthdays and brunch with friends. My go-to serving dishes include our Nambe salad bowl, cheese board, chip and dip bowl, and 2-tier serving plate. We obviously love acacia wood but there are so many other styles to choose from at Bloomingdale’s.
I think this one is self explanatory but pots and pans are a necessity if you’re going to ever have home cooked meals. Also, since they will take up the majority of costs for kitchen essentials, they make for a great wedding gift. Since friends and family members may only want to spend up to $100 maximum, add each pot and pan to the list rather than an entire set that someone may not want to purchase. This way you will most likely receive each item you place on the registry.
Even if you have been with your significant other for over a decade, a new bed set is the best and most comfortable kick starter gift as newlyweds. Hands down! This is the opportunity to get the bedding you’ve always wanted to make that married life magic happen. Bloomingdale’s has so many great choices available in this department. If I were you, I would go check it out for myself since the feel of material will make a big difference for bedtime.
