Travel: Palm Springs Girl’s Getaway

LIFE / Must Read / Travel

Friendships make the world go round and there is no better way to build on those special bonds then having a girl’s getaway!

Last weekend, we celebrated my friend Daniella’s birthday, in no better place than Palm Springs, California.

I’ve been to the beautiful desert of Palm Springs many times before, but love every chance I get to come back. There is something so magical about being 2 hours from Los Angeles, but feeling like you’re in another country.  It makes a weekend getaway feel like a week long tropical trip! The climate is definitely not tropical with it’s desert sand and dry heat, but being by the pool with a fruity drink in hand makes it a special paradise of its own.

We were like little school girls driving from LA to Palm Springs, excited for a relaxing trip to catch up with each other’s lives and make new memories. That excitement heightened the second we pulled up to the Riviera Palm Springs where we would be staying for the next 2 nights and saw how fabulous it was! I felt like we were the stars of a movie or something.

The grand stature of the entrance to the old Hollywood feel of the décor were the perfect touches to set the tone right for our weekend getaway.

Our breakfast at the resort’s restaurant the next morning, Circa 59, was delicious and everything we needed to get our day started. Nothing like some calories, coffee and mimosas to celebrate the start of a beautiful weekend! The pool was already getting filled up with sun bathers by the time we made it out, but we were still able to find a spot to catch some rays and dip in the pool whenever it got too hot.

It got to be about 110+ degrees while we were there, but the dry heat made it feel closer to the mid-90’s. Nothing that jumping in the pool couldn’t fix. It was also nice that the Riviera Palm Springs has two separate pools to choose from depending on your mood or vibe. Both of them had plenty of room, nice chairs, umbrellas, and a bar to get (de)hydrated whenever needed.

We couldn’t help but LOVE this green wall with white bench and mirrors!! The perfect photo op location and idea for an outside hallway. Perfection!

It was finally time for a night out to properly celebrate Daniella’s Birthday!

Birba, a restaurant recommended by a friend, ended up being everything we wished it to be and more! The food and service were incredible and the outside atmosphere of the restaurant was the best setting for a Palm Springs experience.

Sunday was our last day there but that didn’t stop us from taking it all in. We enjoyed some more time by the pool and finished the day with a nice lunch nearby. Our short trip felt a lot longer with the fun that we had and we couldn’t have been happier with our time spent at the Riviera.

If you plan to take a trip to Palm Springs soon then be sure to check out Riviera Palm Springs for your stay and Birba for dinner.
