Des + Chris: Wedding Reception at Redondo Beach Historic Library

If you missed our ceremony photos at the beautiful Wayfarer’s Chapel last Thursday, you can view those HERE before checking out our reception album below to re-live our wedding day from start to finish.

Chris and I both agreed that one of the most important aspects of our wedding day aside from our vows would be good food and an awesome dance party for all of our friends and family to enjoy. That was definitely accomplished with Spectrum Catering and the open space of the Redondo Beach Historic Library! It couldn’t have been any better.

The original shelves and the large windows created a vintage look that was more than I could have imagined. The textured taupe walls flowed nicely with the floral arrangements created by Sinclair & Moore Events and the tables, furniture and vintage books brought in from Found Rentals painted a beautiful setting.

Brandon Kidd Photography captured all of the details needed to showcase the entire picture of our wedding night and we are so thankful for his talent and expertise to bring you these images.

We started the night off with our first dance to ‘Love and Affection’ performed by Matt White himself! It was such a special surprise from Chris because I had no idea Matt would actually be there. The song, ‘Love and Affection’, is special to Chris and me since that was the song we danced to on our one-on-one date in Germany; the moment we both knew we had something special.

I was able to get Tasos Hernández from Elite DJ to spin music for our wedding and every song was on point. Many may recognize the name from Andi’s season of ‘The Bachelorette’ but I have known Tasos since high school so it was exciting to have a friend and a familiar face as a DJ.

The food from Spectrum Catering was truly incredible and we made sure to savor every bite! From the delicious salad to the stuffed chicken with mushroom risotto, I could have sat there all night eating everything in sight. Haha. Not to mention that the OneHope Wine being poured was the perfect pairing.

The Redondo Beach Historic Library offers such a wonderful space that catered nicely to the rustic bar and lounge seating from Found Rentals that was set up for guests. The dance floor sits in the middle of the library that made everyone get off their seat and join the party. It was exactly what we wanted and more! The dance moves going on that night were pretty epic. Bad, good and all in between. It was the best!

The hand calligraphy done by La Happy Design for the menus, name cards and labels dance poetically on the table and are a great compliment to the romantic flowers. Also, I personally love salt water taffy so it only made sense to give all of our guests some of these childhood treats in a fun, linen, drawstring bag as a favor to take home.

Chris and I loved our dessert table created by the wonderful Sweet &Saucy Shop, which was filled with all of our favorite treats including brownies, chocolate chip cookies, miniature apple pies and an oreo cookie cake that was to die for. A passed treat that was a must have for Chris were mini strawberry and chocolate shakes that Spectrum Catering put together for us. So yummy!!!

Our night couldn’t have gone as well as it did without the help of Leila Lewis from Be Inspired PR and our coordinator Gianni from Chic Celebrations.

A special thanks to everyone who made our wedding reception one for the record books! THANK YOU! 😉
