If you have ever been in a wedding or planning one yourself, then you understand the importance of having your bridal party rehearse where they will stand for the day of to ensure a flawless ceremony. To thank friends and family for being a part of your special day a dinner is typically scheduled right after the rehearsal.
Although Chris and I do love ourselves some dinner we LOVE brunch even more and have a mutual respect for eggs, bacon, pastries, French toast, waffles, pancakes, and anything else labeled under breakfast. For that reason alone, it was a no brainer to have a rehearsal brunch instead of dinner to share the early afternoon with friends and family while enjoying our favorite meal of the day.
We decided to have a special brunch buffet at The Portofino Hotel & Marina which was conveniently located across from where we were staying. It was a private affair in their Pacific Ballroom that overlooks the marina and was the perfect space for our 45 guests. It was also the best time for our friends and family from all over the country to meet each other before the wedding day.
The food was everything we needed after an exciting morning at our ceremony location with our bridal party. The eggs, bacon and breakfast items were right up my alley along with a delicious mimosa to wash it all down and to cheers with my bridesmaids! I loved that there were still pasta and salad options as well for those who preferred lunch items instead. Also for everyone who wanted to go back for seconds to try it all. 😉
The Portofino catering and wait service were excellent and we couldn’t have asked for a better brunch with our loved ones! I highly recommend doing a rehearsal brunch so that you have the rest of the day to hang out and get to bed early for your wedding day!
My adorable Grandmother came all the way from Pennsylvania to be with us.
Aren’t my parents so cute!
Some of my bridesmaids and one of the flower girls going back for seconds.
Looks like this table enjoyed their bloody Mary’s!
The chocolate cake was SO good, I think I had two! 😉
A special thanks to The Portofino Hotel & Marina for a memorable rehearsal brunch that kick started our wedding weekend!
